How students are organized within a family

Quick answer: Each family record can hold up to four students. Students are stored as fields on the family record, not as separate records.

The student slot model

Growth Suite gives each family up to four student slots — Student 1, Student 2, Student 3, and Student 4. Each slot holds one child's information: name, date of birth, grade or program, and anything else your school tracks per child.

The order of students within a family doesn't have any special meaning to Growth Suite. Most schools keep them in age order with the oldest as Student 1, but you can arrange them however makes sense for your team — just be consistent.

Why four slots

Four was chosen because it covers the overwhelming majority of families. If a family has more than four students, contact your Growth Suite support team — there's a process for handling this, but it isn't self-service.

Where to find each student

Open any family record and you'll see the student information laid out per slot. Depending on how your school's family profile view is set up, students may appear in the left panel, the center panel, or grouped together in a dedicated section.
