How to send a message to multiple families
Quick answer: Build or open a smart list, select the families to message, and use the bulk send action.
Step-by-step
- Open
Contactsand build or open a smart list of the families you want to message. - Select the families to include — Select All for everyone in the list, or check specific rows.
- Click the bulk send action (Send Email, Send SMS, or your school's equivalent).
- Choose whether to send to Parent 1, Parent 2, or both.
- Write the message or pick a template.
- Review and send.
Tips
- Test by sending to yourself first. Build a smart list filtered to just your own family record (or a test family) to preview how the message will look.
- For recurring messages like weekly newsletters, use an automation instead of bulk sending manually.
- Every message sent is tracked on each recipient's family record under the Conversations section, so you can always confirm who received what.
