How to mark a family as withdrawn
Quick answer: Remove the current academic year tag and apply a withdrawn tag. Don't delete the family record.
Step-by-step
- Open
Contactsand find the family. - In the Contact Card at the top of the family record, find the tags section.
- Remove the current academic year tag (for example,
enrolled 26/27). - Apply a
withdrawntag (or your school's equivalent — confirm the exact tag name with your team if you're not sure). - Add a note to the family record explaining the withdrawal — date and reason if known.
- If the family is on a tuition plan, contact your billing team to cancel or adjust the plan.
Why not delete
Withdrawn families often re-enroll later — sometimes years later, sometimes for a different child. Keeping the record preserves your school's history: previous payments, past forms, prior communications. Deletion is permanent.
Tips
- Be specific in the note. "Family relocated to Texas, June 2026" tells the next person who looks at this record exactly what happened.
- If only one student in a family is leaving (and other students stay enrolled), don't withdraw the family — just update that student's information. The family is still active.
