How to export family data to a spreadsheet

Quick answer: Build a smart list of the families you want to export, then use the Export action to download a CSV.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Contacts and build or open a smart list of the families.
  2. Click the Export action.
  3. Choose which fields to include — names, emails, addresses, tuition status, students' info, etc.
  4. Choose the format. CSV is the standard choice and opens cleanly in Excel and Google Sheets.
  5. Click Download.

Why this is useful

  • Sharing a list with someone who doesn't have Growth Suite access — a board member, a vendor, your accountant
  • Preparing data for a year-end report or audit
  • Bringing data into another tool for a mail merge or analysis

Tips

  • Exports contain real family information. Treat them like any other sensitive school data — store securely, delete when done.
  • For large exports (hundreds of families), the file may take a moment to generate.
